Welcome to Gippsland Opera
Gippsland Opera’s Opera By The Lakes March 2020 was one of the last events permitted to run prior to lock down, with the growing knowledge that Coronavirus was not simply going to go away, and yes it did impact us all in some way, including those involved in the entertainment business. With vaccination, and still adhering to some of those sensible regulations that should not be immediately discounted because we have had a ‘jab’. With those things in place, that much loved event Opera By The Lakes is planned for March 20 2022, at the stunning venue of Nyerimilang Heritage Park.
Our first concert for this year was held in April featuring tenor Shanul Sharma and Madeleine Crombie in the beautiful St Mary’s Church in East Gippsland, that gave us all an insight into how much we have missed these amazing voices, for the singers it was like a drought that had been broken. That, if I needed more proof, was the resolve to ensure that Gippsland Opera plays our part in bringing these talented singers, musicians, the music, and O.B.T.L. back if humanly possible in 2022.
Gippsland Opera has the deserved reputation of supporting singers, whilst supplying first class entertainment in beautiful unique venues with a plethora of exceptional singers who bring their best to our regional area, that results in Gippsland Opera’s audience coming from far and wide including, Regional Victoria, Melbourne, N.S.W. South Australia, Tasmania, even a bus load from New Zealand. Needless to say that also helps our regions economy, showcases and markets this very special part of our world.
