Opera By The Lakes

With a stunning venue, set in a natural amphitheater on a cliff top, with views over the largest lakes system in the Southern Hemisphere, where white bellied eagles fly on thermal currents. All that, plus over 167 hectares of National Park, complete with Pioneer buildings, and the original homestead built in 1890.
For the past seven years this venue has been the home for Opera By The Lakes, which completely sells out, is it any wonder, when together with that venue, the audience have had the privilege of listening to world class opera and music theatre singers. Opera By The Lakes was one of the last events to be permitted to run due to COVID in Victoria.
It is indeed a wonderful feeling to be able to say that O.B.T.L. is back on Sunday March 19 2023 and it will be the biggest and best one yet with a stella cast including:
GUY NOBLE one of Australia’s top conductors, compere’s and accompanist with a great sense of humor. The world-renowned bass baritone
TEDDY TAHU RHODES with a voice deep rich sound that can fill any of the world’s most famous Opera Houses.
Mezzo Soprano SALLY-ANNE RUSSELL Australian and International acclaimed Opera singer who likewise has an impressive biography, with a beautiful voice Sally-Anne is much in demand all over the world.
The stars keep on coming, with another world class singer the popular tenor SHANUL SHARMAthe critics say ’Possessing a voice capable of “dazzling fireworks” (The Age), “laser-like precision” (Limelight Magazine) and “reslarity”
T add to this star studded cast, we are adding Internaional Soprano KATE AMOS plus a young baritone, WILL JONES, who makes his first appearance at O.B.T.L.
Music is there from the moment you arrive East Gippsland Brass Band until the gates open at 12 noon and then East Gippsland Symphonia, will be playing as you munch your delicious lunch prior to ‘Official Welcome’ at 1.30pm, then the moment you have been waiting for after a two year absence, the world’s best singers on stage here in East Gippsland.
